What you’ll do
It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:
- This position is responsible
for supervising and coordinating the day to day operations of the
Logistics Payable Department, providing support to all Associates,
supervising performance and monitoring workflow, consistency,
effectiveness and efficiency of Logistics Payable department
- Prioritizes and reallocates
individual workloads to ensure overall department resources are fully
utilized and departmental deadlines and goals are met. Identify
opportunities for training and growth for associates.
- Collaborates with Manager to
prepares and deliver annual performance reviews for direct reports;
assists in coaching and developing associates.
- Liaises with various internal
departments and external sources, ensuring resolution of vendor-related
issues.
- Reviews and maintains the
accuracy of data flowing into systems to ensure estimated landed cost
information provided to merchants are accurate.
- Supervises and provide
education, training, and support of the Landed Factor System to the
Merchandising community; provides estimated landed cost information to
merchants for newly sourced products originating from new country where
the historical data is not available.
- Monitors invoice/system
exceptions and history and ensure outstanding items are resolved in a
timely manner.
- Monitors departmental
statistics to ensure they are meeting department standards, compile
metrics for budgeting and analysis purposes.
- Participates in special
projects, system design, process improvements, and testing as required.
What you’ll need
To begin your career with us, we require the following:
- A Post-Secondary Education in
Business/Commerce, Accounting or Finance; related education will be considered.
- Working towards a CPA
designation is a strong asset.
- Minimum two (2) years of
professional experience in Accounting/Finance roles that includes an
emphasis on financial analysis.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
Accounting processes, principles and controls, data mining, and general
data analytics.
- Experience with Logistics /
Supply Chain including knowledge of shipping procedures (i.e.
international and domestic) considered an asset
- Strong written and verbal
communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills
including analysis of information (i.e. requirements; description of
problems); provide solutions with cost implications to effectively resolve
issues and execute strategic solutions; process improvement mindset with
ability to identify root cause of issues and implement corrective action
- Strong computer skills
including MS Office, MS Excel, Power Bi and/or Tableau, etc.
- Thorough understanding of complex business workflows that integrate with various areas (i.e. upstream and downstream impacts of issues). Knowledge of Supply Chain or Logistics processes as well as DC, Merchandising and Financial Control is an asset.
