REQUIREMENTS

  • This position may be funded by Canada Summer Jobs
  • As per Canada Summer Jobs, these are mandatory requirements
  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period;
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer general inquiries via phone calls, provide information on services, and facilitate referrals into Agency programs.
  • Conduct client feedback phone calls and interviews, and record feedback. ,
  • Organize and evaluate client feedback and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Recommend process improvements for administrative efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Employment and Settlement Services team, and other departments, to ensure client inquiries are addressed.
  • Operate effectively, efficiently, and with a client-focused approach to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Actively participate in departmental meetings and events.
  • Regularly meet with the Director and other staff to discuss individual and team effectiveness.
  • Provide general administrative support as needed.
  • Adhere to agency policies, procedures, and uphold the Mission, Vision, and Values of Dixon Hall.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, post-secondary education.
  • Relevant work experience (placement opportunities included) in similar customer service environments is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher) and database management.
  • Dependable, punctual, and flexible in handling various tasks.
  • Ability to work efficiently both as part of a team and independently.
  • Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
  • Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer.
  • Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a ‘Clear’ or satisfactory result that meets the operational requirements of the Agency.
  • Must have up-to-date vaccinations against COVID-19 with a vaccine that has been approved for use in Canada.
