Education
- Post-secondary
education with a specialization in environmental outreach, marketing,
communications, science communications or related discipline.
Experience
- Two to three
years’ experience related to major tasks.
- Experience
planning and implementing promotional plans and strategies.
- Experience
performing research, data collection, analysis, and report preparation.
- Experience
working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, partners,
and organizations.
- Experience
coordinating the delivery of outreach and promotional tactics and
campaigns.
- Experience
using MS Office.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
- Knowledge of ecological and environmental
conservation principles and practices.
- Ability to develop and implement engaging
and effective outreach, communications and promotional materials and
tactics.
- Excellent verbal and written
communication skills.
- Excellent creative and persuasive writing
skills.
- Ability to write for different audiences
(e.g. farmers, homeowners, businesses, government).
- Ability to research and write a variety
of digital and print communications materials including articles, ads,
social media posts, e-publications and reports.
- Knowledge of social media and digital
communications tools (e.g. Facebook ads, MailChimp, Survey Monkey).
- Technical knowledge and familiarity with
webinar-delivery tactics and platforms an asset.
- Ability to think strategically and bring
creative solutions to outreach and promotional development activities.
- Ability to input, organize, manage and
manipulate data in Excel.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple
tasks to meet deadlines.
- Basic photography and/or videography
skills an asset.
- Valid class ‘G’ Driver’s License an
asset.
- Able to work some weekends and evenings.
