What You Will Do
Marketing &
Advertising
- Prepare annual marketing plan and execute strategic
plans and tactics accordingly
- Promote the shopping centre consistent with established
goals and revenue objectives
- Develop short and long-term marketing strategies
- Plan and execute traffic and merchandising events
designed to appeal to the property's key target segments and contribute to
driving sales, traffic and market share.
- Plan and execute appropriate advertising campaigns,
digital / social media strategy, merchandising events, promotional
activities, and public relations programs
- Organize a communication platform to promote key events
and special promotions.
- Co-ordinate tenant and customer relations and implement
comprehensive communications strategy
- Develop a media relations plan and strategy
- Negotiate media and contracts as applicable
- Ensure the Centre's web site design and content are
current, correct and on brand.
- Project the center’s image in line with BGO's Services
posture as a good corporate citizen and business leader in the community
- Enhance and foster strong merchant relationships and
participation levels
- Manage a professional agenc(ies) to develop a
distinctive campaign and oversee the successful execution of the Centre's
creative and message strategies to create brand awareness and alliance;
promote special events and key retail periods; and highlight retailers.
- Stay abreast of current new media opportunities and
community programming to ensure program is nimble and reactive to
community needs
- Capitalize on timely trends and current culture through
community initiatives and promotions.
Event Management
- Development of new events, maintains, organizes and
manages existing events from concept to completion, ensuring they operate
smoothly, efficiently and generate maximum revenue and exposure
- Managing and overseeing events on the day of including
problem solving, welcoming guests, directing event set-up, communicating
with staff ahead of time.
- Communicate with Marketing assistant to create
effective advertisements for each event (Print materials, online, radio
ads etc.)
- Maintain Marketing/event archives for all events and
contests
- Budget review and post event analysis
- Liaise with the tenants to ensure maximum participation
in all mall events and promotions
- Conduct regular checks of competitive shopping centre
venues regarding events, contests, social media and digital presence.
Budgeting &
Reporting
- Prepare promotion fund budget and support schedules
including control of funds through established accounts payable procedures
- Code and process centre marketing payables and analyze
/ explain variances
- Use all data and analytics available to shape the
strategy for and measure the results of activities regularly, reporting
directly to the GM with the support of the VP, Marketing and Digital
Strategy
Management
- Manage the operation, administration and promotion of
the Guest Services team
- Work co-operatively with other management staff
- Foster positive tenant, consumer, community and
philanthropic relationships
- Initiate market research programs and keep current on
market area changes, consumer and business trends as well as industry and
competitive activities
- Keep management office, mall staff and merchants
informed of advertising schedules, mall events, etc.
- Plan and execute special projects as required
Sustainability

Who You Are
- Related post-secondary diploma or university degree
- Minimum 5 years of strategic marketing, sales,
advertising or related experience
- Minimum 3 years supervising, coaching and mentoring
direct reports
- Knowledge of retail industry and branding tactics an
asset
- Reliable transportation and ability to actively
participate in mall events and set up
- Relationship Skills –
Superior oral and written communication and presentation skills; ability
to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships at all levels;
ability to exercise confidentiality
- Organizational/Multi-Task Skills - Ability to allocate one's time effectively,
work under pressure and manage tight deadlines; ability to handle multiple
demands and competing priorities, and adapt to new ideas and constant
changes
- Computer Skills -
Strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and multiple graphic/publisher
programs. Well versed in Social Marketing opportunities
- Social Media –
Experience with the implementation and management of Social Media.
- Police Clearance – A criminal verification check is required for employment
