Job Title: Sous Chef

Job Summary
Queen’s Hospitality Services is seeking passionate and skilled Sous Chefs to join our dynamic culinary team. The Sous Chef plays a critical role in supporting the Executive Chef/Manager by overseeing the daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene. This position requires excellent leadership, creativity, and organizational skills to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations:
Assist the Executive Chef in planning and executing menus that align with Queen’s Hospitality Services’ standards and guest preferences.
Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff activities to ensure efficient and timely food preparation.
Monitor inventory levels, oversee food purchasing, and minimize waste.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper food storage and sanitation practices.
Team Leadership:
Train, mentor, and inspire kitchen staff to maintain high performance and morale.
Schedule and manage kitchen personnel to optimize staffing levels based on operational needs.
Address and resolve any kitchen-related conflicts or challenges promptly and professionally.
Quality Assurance:
Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure consistency and quality.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.
Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs.
Innovation and Creativity:
Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop new recipes and seasonal menus.
Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative culinary techniques.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: Culinary diploma or equivalent certification preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
Creativity and a passion for culinary excellence.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Certifications: Food Handler’s Certificate or equivalent (preferred).
