Warehouse Supervisor

Essential Duties
- Supervise Warehouse
Operations: Lead and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse associates to
ensure orders are processed and shipped on time. Maintain operational
efficiency and efficiently manage inventory by constantly monitoring inbound
and outbound volumes in the warehouse management system, anticipating
bottlenecks and allocating resources as needed.
- Evaluate Staffing
Needs: Coordinate attendance shifts and participate in the hiring of skilled
associates to meet daily, weekly and seasonal volumes while reducing overtime.
- Team Leadership:
Work alongside team members to help them complete basic duties and
responsibilities, provide guidance, motivation, and training to maintain
productivity, morale, and safety standards. Assist with onboarding and training
new employees.
- Quality Control:
Oversee order picking, packing, and shipping processes to ensure that items are
correctly picked, accurately packed, and dispatched according to customer
requirements.
- Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure the safe operation of warehouse equipment and maintain a clean and
organized environment.
- Safety Compliance:
Enforce and adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, ensuring that the
warehouse is organized, clean, and free of hazards. Conduct regular safety
audits and training.
- Problem Solving:
Address and resolve operational issues, such as inventory discrepancies,
staffing shortages, and logistical challenges, to minimize disruptions in
warehouse activities.
- Performance
Monitoring: Evaluate team performance, providing feedback and guidance to
improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity. Assist with performance reviews
and goal setting.
- Facilitate direct
resolution of machine issues by scheduling appropriate technicians and coordinate
waste, corrugate and pallet pick-ups with vendors.
- Collaboration: Work
closely with the Warehouse Manager, supervisors, and other departments (e.g.,
Shipping, Purchasing) to ensure smooth operations and meet customer needs.
- Report Generation:
Maintain accurate records of daily activities, and other necessary
documentation for reporting and analysis.
Qualifications
- Education: High
school diploma or equivalent; some college or specialized training in
logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum
of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 3+ years in a
supervisory or team lead role.
- 3-5 years of warehouse experience in a Food/CPG
Distribution, or Logistics environment.
Skills
- Strong leadership
and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Excellent
communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in
warehouse management software (WMS) and basic computer applications (e.g.,
Microsoft Office).
- Ability to work well
under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Solid understanding
of inventory control practices and warehouse safety standards.
- Physical
Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and
perform physical tasks as required by the role.
- Must be a resourceful self-starter with exceptional
labour planning skills
- Team player skills with demonstrated abilities to
interact well with all levels of associates
- Proven ability to encourage and motivate others in a positive
manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

organizational skills
- Works well under
pressure
- Demonstrates
enthusiasm for tasks at hand, and high energy level
Certifications
- License for Machine Handling Equipment (MHE): Forklift
reach, power pallet jack, counterbalance or other relevant certifications
are a plus.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced warehouse
environment, with a focus on team collaboration and efficiency.
- Occasional overtime
may be required, especially during peak seasons.
- Stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, reach,
push, pull, squat, turn body, walk, lift, and operate warehouse equipment
- Must have the ability to talk and hear; hear warning
horns on moving machinery and equipment
- The work environment
includes colder temperatures, congested and high traffic areas - may
occasionally work in high and precarious places.
Schedule
- 6 days a week (Sunday-Friday)
- 8:00AM start time
- 4:30PM finish time
