DUTIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Load and unload freight.
- Pick and pack customer products and prepare for
shipping.
- Receive shipments, strip trailers and move freight
using a counter balance forklift, walkie or pallet jack to storage area or
appropriate trailers to be loaded according to specifications on manifests or
other paperwork.
- Accurately complete all paperwork (manifests, BOL’s
etc.) and order entry into appropriate software system.
- Properly perform tasks to assure safety and to
prevent damage to freight. Secure loads to prevent shifting, falling and damage
to the freight.
- Respond to all customer inquiries through phone or
e-mail in a prompt and professional manner. Ensure all customer inquiries are
dealt with in a timely fashion and resolve any issues escalated from the Dock
Coordinators.
- Count and inspect all shipments and make appropriate
notations on manifests for any exception (overage, shortage, damage). Promptly
report any O S & D problems or improper loading to management.
- Keep accurate count of inventory for specific
customers.
- Perform all work in a safe, efficient manner and
operate all equipment in an appropriate and safe way while being aware of all
pedestrian traffic in the warehouse.
- Must wear all required personal protective equipment
at all times.
- Handle all dangerous goods or WHMIS regulated
freight in a safe, correct manner in accordance with provided training.
- Pull freight out of storage when required by
customers.
- Lead the Dock Coordinators in loading, unloading and
setup of high value freight when required.
- Coordinate with Operations team for any special deliveries.
