Senior Dispatcher

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee
dispatch operations, ensuring all routes are planned effectively and
drivers are assigned appropriately.
- Monitor
real-time delivery schedules and ensure timely pickups and drop-offs.
- Communicate
with drivers to provide updates, resolve issues, and ensure compliance
with all company policies and industry regulations.
- Manage
and coordinate schedules for a fleet of trucks, ensuring optimal
efficiency and cost management.
- Handle
customer service inquiries, resolve issues, and provide timely updates to
clients regarding deliveries.
- Ensure
drivers are compliant with safety regulations and maintain accurate
records of driving hours, loads, and routes.
- Train
and mentor junior dispatchers, providing guidance on best practices and
troubleshooting complex situations.
- Work
closely with operations and logistics teams to optimize routing, capacity
planning, and resource allocation.
- Assist
in developing and implementing operational procedures and improvements to
enhance the overall dispatch process.
Qualifications:
- Minimum
3 years of experience in a dispatcher or transportation logistics role,
with at least 1 year in a senior or supervisory capacity.
- In-depth
knowledge of the trucking industry, including federal and state
regulations (FMCSA, DOT).
- Proficiency
in transportation management software and GPS tracking systems.
- Strong
communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively
interact with drivers, clients, and team members.
- Excellent
organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage
multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving
abilities and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Ability
to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required.
- High
school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, transportation, or a
related field.
Requirements:
- Proven
experience in shipping and receiving operations within a dispatch or
logistics environment.
- Strong
understanding of transportation management systems and their application
in daily operations.
- Excellent
communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on phone
etiquette.
- Familiarity
with supply chain processes and freight handling procedures.
- Proficient
typing skills for data entry tasks with attention to detail.
- Ability
to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
