Responsibilities
- Evaluate daily operations
- Monitor department’s performance
- Plan and organize daily operations
- Plan for changes to schedules and policies
- Supervise staff
- Train staff
- Manage finances or budget
- Arrange for shipping documentation and the tracking and tracing of
goods in transit
- Ensure transport compliance with regulations
- Establish and implement policies and standards for the
transportation and storage of goods
- Negotiate for services and preferential rates
- Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods
- Oversee the setting of transportation service rates and monitor
revenue
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
